What to bring to kinder

Please clearly label all of your child’s items with their name.

An appropriate-sized bag that your child can carry and open themselves

Before your child’s orientation session, support them to practice packing and unpacking, and opening and closing their bag. Show them where they can store their lunch box, water bottle and hat, and where their spare clothes are. Tending to their belongings builds children’s independence, confidence and resilience.

A healthy snack in a bento box-style lunch box

To be kind to our environment, please pack all snacks ‘nude’ – this means no wrappers including foil or plastic wrap. In accordance with our policy of NO NUTS the following foods are not permitted: all whole nuts, peanut butter, Nutella, muesli bars, and cereals and anything else containing nuts.

A refillable water bottle

Ensure the waterbottle is easy for your child to open and close. Water is the only drink permitted at kindergarten.

A wide-brimmed or legionnaire’s hat

Caps are not appropriate as they do not cover the nape of the neck or face appropriately.

Apply sunscreen

Apply to all exposed parts of your child before they arrive at kinder during term one and four (as per our Sun Protection Policy).

Spare clothes for accidents or water play

Please include underwear and socks as well as a full set of clothing.
